Welcome to my teaching portfolio.

My name is Farrell West. I am an enthusiastic tertiary educator providing creative lessons and engaging classroom instruction to promote the goals of critical thinking, problem solving, collaborative skills and applications within the space of the IIE Vega.

Coming from a background of video editing, web design and animation, I had found myself thriving in the world of Digital Design also know as Multimedia. I am the child of a teacher and naturally rebelled against the idea of joining the world of academia. Whenever a sweet old Aunty would pinch my cheeks and say “Are you going to be a teacher just like your mom?”. My stomach would churn and I would want to reply “Hell no!”.

If only I had come to my senses sooner. Teaching is my absolute passion, teaching students (or anyone for that matter) how to become comfortable with using technology. The moment a person has that “oh, it works” or the iconic “ah ha”, that is pure gold for me as an educator.
