Welcome to my teaching portfolio.

My name is Farrell West. I am a design educator and digital learning specialist, focused on creating engaging, creative learning experiences that develop critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and practical application within the Tertiary Education space.

With a background in video editing, web design, and animation, I found myself naturally drawn to the world of Digital Design, also known as Multimedia. Although I grew up around teaching, I initially resisted the idea of entering academia. Whenever a well-meaning aunty would ask, “Are you going to be a teacher just like your mom?”, my instinctive response was always, “Hell no!”

That perspective has completely shifted. Teaching has become my absolute passion, particularly supporting students (and others) in becoming confident with technology. The moment when something clicks, when someone realises “oh, it works” or has that familiar “aha” moment, is what continues to drive me as an educator.
